1973 Gibson J-45 Deluxe

1973 Gibson J-45 Deluxe

Vintage 1973 Gibson J-45 Deluxe flat top acoustic guitar. This particular example, serial number 7275313, is in very good all original cosmetic condition, and would make both a fantastic player’s piece and an excellent recording tool. Made in Kalamazoo, just like the best Gibson acoustics ever made, this simple and under-stated ’70s version of a J-45 has tons of authentic vibe and appeal.

This NO issues example does not display any cracks, breaks, repairs, or modifications. The neck is straight and the neck angle is good. The preferred nut width measures 1 11/16″ with a pronounced volute on the back of the headstock.

With nice low action and a robust and resonant clarity, the over-built and solid J-45 Deluxe is certainly a workhorse. Not just a functional acoustic instrument, this guitar also looks great. With a rich vintage Cherry Sunburst, a large tortoise-style material pickguard, and simplified appointments, the somewhat plain cosmetic features makes it a really unassuming guitar. Keep in mind, all of the traditional materials and workmanship were applied when making this guitar, which means it features; a solid Spruce top, solid Mahogany back and sides, a Rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays, a 3-piece Mahogany neck, a non-veneered headstock with a simple gold decal, Kluson Deluxe tuning machines, original black plastic bridge pins, metal strap pin, etc.

The only minor cosmetic distraction worth disclosing are: the original tortoise binding is beginning to crystallize and deteriorate. Though it has no degraded or broken, it is a possibly it might in the future. Additionally, there is an added strap pin near the heel, which is great for players.
